What's the best skill to work on this year?

Writing online.

I used to focus on positioning and marketing myself in preparation for that next step in my career. Lately though, my thinking on this has changed and career growth is just one part of the reason why I write. Writing online has given me the opportunity to intellectually engage with more people, and find a creative outlet.

David Perell, founder of Write of Passage, says when you write and share ideas, "you're sending a radio signal out into the world, and the world is tuning into different intellectual frequencies. And so broadcasting your signal, other people can find you and you're finding people on your intellectual wavelengths." And so broadcasting to the world is incredibly cool to think about. I can cross paths with people where I may not have otherwise.

It's a goal of mine in 2022 to write more and post it online. I know, I am late to this game! But I have to think there are a lot of others out there just like me who are standing at the starting line, nervous to get started, but ready to run!
